Everybody will get moles on their body – it’s a natural thing that happens to us all. Though moles can appear in all different shapes and sizes. And while it’s good to keep an eye on any irregular moles to make sure they’re not harmful, most moles are harmless but may appear on parts of your body that you don’t want. The good news is that at Perfection Cosmetic near Bolton we can help with our laser treatment to seamlessly remove moles so you can have your skin as you want it to be. With many different methods available to remove moles, we look at how to take care of yourself after any procedure.

#1 Look after your stitches

Don’t worry, most laser mole removal in Manchester won’t even require you to have stitches. So, you can remove that worry straightaway. While some places offer treatments where they cut away the mole and stitch you up, there aren’t many. Even GPs don’t offer this service anymore. We don’t offer that treatment here at Perfection Cosmetic but instead use our laser technology. You won’t have any stitches, but you’ll get a scab afterward – just keep it dry for the next 48-72 hours and let the natural healing process take effect.

#2 Let your wound heal properly

That goes without saying really, but whatever treatment you go for, when you have your mole removed, there will then be an area where the mole once was. This needs to be kept clean by washing and drying it on a daily basis. And like above, if you’ve been given any ointment or cream to apply, make sure you put it on.

At Perfect Cosmetic Clinic in Bolton, we use our laser technology to destroy the dark pigments of moles. This is a very popular method as it removes the mole from your body and lessens the risk of scarring. After the treatment, you must keep the area clean for the next three days as the scab heals naturally.

#3 Take a break from the gym

If you’re a gym bunny or partial to the odd workout, it’s best to have a little break after you’ve had mole removal treatment. Performing any strenuous activity could cause muscle tension where the removal site was. Or you could cause sweat to get into it when you should be trying your best to keep the area clean and dry.

#4 Put the razor down

Had a mole been removed from your legs, chest, arms, face – anywhere you might usually shave? The last thing you want is to aggravate the area so you’re just going to have to let the hair grow for a week or two.

#5 Keep clear of cleansers

In fact, any peroxide or medicines that could cause irritation should be avoided. You don’t want to make your skin itchy or for it to react to the cleanser or cream etc.

#6 Things to watch out for

Here are some things to watch out for after you’ve had your mole removed. If you notice any pain in the area or redness or pus, then you should seek medical help. This is the same if you start suffering from a fever or if you’ve had stitches and they come out. And if the mole reappears afterward, go to your GP to get it checked out to make sure it’s nothing serious.

There you have it. If you plan on getting a mole removed, there’s nothing to worry about when it comes to aftercare. It’s all fairly straightforward, especially when you use our top tips.
